Summer Wedding: What to Wear

Summer. The time of iced coffee, swimsuits, and weddings.

I am officially at the age where all of my friends are becoming adults and getting hitched. Which means its time to buy some new outfits.

I mean I’m not complaining, I love shopping and I love my friends and celebrating their love. But damn, this shit is stressful.

We are going to see a bunch of people who knew us in our prime- back when we were 115 lbs and in college. But that was awhile ago, and I don’t know about you, but my life has done a complete 360 since then.

And so begins the mad dash to find the perfect outfit to impress all my friends, fit the mood/theme/location of the wedding and fit in my post-grad budget.

Spring Makeup Haul

April showers bring….new makeup!

Can we make that a new motto?!

No but really, I’ve been trying to use up my current makeup stash, so buying new products hasn’t really been on my radar. Buuuuuuut, like any normal human-being, sometimes you just can’t help buying new things.

Lust List: Spring Fragrance

This time of year is all about cleaning out your closet, rearranging your home and decluttering. I find this the perfect opportunity to do some refreshing in the scent category as well.

I’m usually drawn to similar scents year-round. However, during the spring I tend to gravitate towards more floral/musky tones. Things like lily, vanilla, musk, rose and amber. Mixed with a slight fruity undertone, and you have the perfect prequel to summertime. Continue reading

Spring/Summer 2016 Lip Trend: True Red

I was sitting around this week thinking, what lip color should I wear today?

I know, I know. Big life decisions.

Is the Kylie nude still in? Are the winter mauves out? I JUST DONT KNOW!

Thank goodness for Google. After some searching, some runway reviewing and some Sephora stalking, I have determined that this spring and summer I will be rocking the candy-apply reds.

Fringing in a Time of Social Change

There once was a man who created an entire trend based off an already existing color. A color that become synonymous with his name. Valentino has been the brain behind trend operations for the majority of his career. Now, with two different designers behind the wheel, the brand still continues to present garments, accessories, color palettes and more that are timeless, refined and sensual. They create works of art that, in fact, become trends. With the latest catwalk from Spring/Summer 2016, Valentino showcased one particular trend I found most compelling- fringing.

The Synergy Between Art and Fashion

Everything is influenced by something else. Whether it be music, design, writing, or food; creativity stems from being able to reinterpret something that was once old into a new existence. It is fascinating to observe design as a reoccurrence of a former art movement because it allows viewers an insight into the designers thought process. Why was this art movement chosen and what makes it relevant?

Spring Drugstore Haul

Good afternoon loves!

Most of you have probably read last weeks post where I showed you all my recent high-end purchases. Since then I’ve been trying to spend a little less monies in the old makeup department, and frankly, some of the best makeup goodies can be found at your local drugstore! That being said, my little sister and I had a bit too much fun at her local CVS this last weekend and these were what we ended up with:

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso: I have heard everyone and their dog talk about this gorgeous peach toned blush, so naturally I had to pick one up. After using it once, I can honestly say this is an incredible product. It gives such a nice peach-bronzed glow to the face- perfect for summer!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent: This is by far the best blotting powder EVER. It works so well to mattify any look, stays all day, and is around $3. Ca-ching.

L’oreal Magic Lumi Primer: Haven’t tested this primer out yet- but I’m hoping it will work well for making my makeup last a little longer. My hunt for the perfect primer continues.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded: I adore the Maybelline Color Tattoos and I figured that this golden tan would be amazing on its own or layered with browns and rose tones during the summer. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but I will let you know!

Essie Polish in Hubby for Dessert: This color is a part of their new bridal collection. It is a pale nude with a purple tint, and is absolutely gorgeous on! I have been loving white-toned pastels and this light purple is perfect.

MUA lipliner: This lipliner is in a clear color that is supposed to help all lipsticks from blurring at the edges. I was so excited when I first came across it and it has not disappointed. I wore it for around 6 hours the other day and it truly made my lipstick last SO much longer!

MUA lipstick in Raspberry: Again, wow MUA. This color is to-die-for. A gorgeous bright pink, I am beyond trilled to don this color for fun daytime adventures! It is highly pigmented and its lasting power is off the charts. Overall, I am extr

And that’s all folks! Any up coming post suggestions you’d like from me? I need some inspiration!!

Spring High-End Makeup Haul

Long time no talk loves!

I have been being very naughty lately- my wallet agrees.

I’ve been popping into Sephora…wandering the aisles, testing the new goodies, and loving quite a few new products. Take a look…..

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: This spray may have cost me a slight buck or two, however its benefits are out of this world! Not only does it give added texture to first, second or third day hair, but it keeps hair looking clean- just like a dry shampoo. It smells incredible and has not disappointed!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral: I have heard so much about this lip treatments that I had to pick one up to try. I have been loving coral lips lately so this color was an automatic win. I love the color payoff, however the consistency was a bit runny for my taste. I’m wondering if I got a dud or if it’s supposed to be so malleable?

Stila Eyes Are the Window Palette in Spirit: Lust doesn’t even begin to cover how I drool over eyeshadow palettes, and Stila really hit it out of the park with their Eyes Are the Window palette collection. I chose Spirit as it contained the most colors that I didn’t have in my collection yet- more orange toned hues. The rose gold packaging didn’t help either… 😉

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment: Obsessed. Hook, line, and sinker. This is the most amazing night cream I have ever tried. It is nourishing, moisturizing, rejuvenating, and brightening.

YSL Touche Eclat Concealer: I have a concealer obsession. Do I need another, no. Do I keep buying them, yes. Oh well. I had one of the lovely associates at the Sephora color-match me for a slightly yellow-toned hue for my under-eye area. I am loving this to brighten up my face on those early mornings.

Hourglass Arch Eyebrow Pencil: I have been interested in trying this eyebrow pencil as it is slightly thicker than the Anastasia one I normally use. This pencil is also a waxier consistency. So far I’m enjoying it, but I still think the Anastasia Brow Wiz is my fave!

And that’s it for high-end makeup purchases for a while from me! Have any of you tried these? What are your thoughts??

LUSH Spring Haul

I love LUSH. I love LUSH so incredibly much. So upon my recent vacation I corralled my extended family into the car and dragged us to the nearest LUSH location.

Everyone and their dog has been posting pictures of the adorable new spring-shaped goodies. And me, being easily coerced into purchasing anything remotely cute…had to have them.

Bunch of Carrots: my first absolute pick of the LUSH spring haul…this delightful citrus-scented cutie is basically perfect. It’s a reusable bubble bar, comes in a bunch of three, and smells fresh and like oranges. I cannot wait to use them!

Lemony Butter Cuticle Butter: I tested this out the last time I was in LUSH and was so impressed by how soft it made the skin around my nails. I don’t know about you, but I tend to get tons of hang nails. This thick butter is so rich and is able to moisturize even the roughest hands.

Fluffy Egg: this hot pink bath bomb is formulated in one of LUSH’s signature scents- cotton candy. It is sweet, fruity, and rich all at once.

RED Fun: The best way I can describe this is play dough made out of soap. The concept is that this bar of soap can be molded into various shapes- perfect for young children….or young adults 🙂 Also, it smells like mandarin….amazing.

Each Peach (and Two’s a Pair): This is one of LUSH’s signature massage bars. It is a moisturizing lotion bar, scented of citrus (of course…my fave). If you have not tried LUSH’s massage bars yet I would highly recommend it. They are perfect for after you get out of the bath to re-hydrate your skin.

Overall, this LUSH trip was a complete success and I have completely enjoyed each and every product. If you can, I would recommend trying any you can!
