Few things grow an individuals soul more than travel.
Personally, I have never felt more fulfilled and enriched than when I’m wandering a foreign place completely new to me. Tasting new foods and meeting new people, getting lost while looking at shop windows, it’s all part of the beauty that is found in travel.
There’s nothing that makes the winter season feel more authentic than a winter market. I probably visited at least five while in London, and every time I got mulled wine. #priorities
What? Sunny in London?!
Miracles do happen.
Here are some snapshots from a lunch-date I had with my amazing friend/impromptu photographer Victoria.
I adore living in London. This city is so full of life, adventure, and what I notice most- style. The men and women in this town are so impeccably dressed, even when dressing casually they look put-together.
But, like any city, some trends carry through everyone and are fun to pick out.
First of all. My ultimate favorite is the fact that I now live in London.
AHHHH. I know. I’m still pinching myself that I actually live here. But if you’re interested in what I’ve been loving this month, carry on reading!
Liberty is one of the iconic London brands. I think history, heritage and quality when picturing the quintessential building, the products and brand name. Merge the brand backing of Liberty with the embodiment of the Christmas spirit and there is an ultimate success.
I love Christmas. A time full of laughter, family, friends and festivities. It’s because of these things that this season makes me so happy. The lights, ornaments and colors sparkle all over town. The snowflakes falling and ice glistening evoke feelings of jubilation.
Hi hi hi!
Moving abroad is hard. Plain and simple. You’re moving to a country different from your own, with different customs, different shops, different ways of life. And in most cases, it’s up to you to figure it all out. That’s not to say that it isn’t an incredibly, amazing, life-changing experience either. But some days you’ll wish you were home again hugging your parents and snuggling your puppies.
But, I have found that there are things to make it a bit easier.
I have my first British haul for ya’ll! (yes, I can rhyme).
And, as any true beauty blogger is aware, Soap & Glory is one of those beauty products that is associated with the U.K. Not only do the drugstores (or high-street stores- I’m learning!) carry the body care products, but there is a full makeup range too!
So, naturally, once I touched down in London, I scooted right off to the local Boots and picked up some goodies that I’d love to share with you!
So, big news, I’ve moved. And not just down the block or to another town. I up and moved across the world.
And so far, so good.
Let’s give you a back story, shall we?
I have been in love with fashion since I was a little girl. My favorite part of playing with Barbies when I was younger was buying them accessories and dressing them up time and time again.
One of my University degrees is in fashion, and the town I was living in was just not cutting it as far as inspiration and opportunity goes. And if this is the path I want to take in life, I need to be in an area where that can happen.
Luckily, I was admitted into an incredible program here so I can be surrounded by fashionable individuals in an incredible city where I can learn and grow as a creative person.
I’m so excited!!
Of course it’s also been difficult. Not having family or friends here, having to learn the city yourself (and get lost- a lot) and sometimes just sitting in your room make for a difficult adjustment. But then I’m reminded that I’m 100% surrounded by beauty, fashion, architecture, history and so much more. If I’m ever lonely I can find comfort in the many art museums, make new friends at one of the local coffee shops or simply ride the tube around town to *attempt to* gain some sort of bearing on this city.
So, I hope you’ll stick around for this crazy adventure of mine- I can’t wait to share it with you all 🙂
Until next time,
