Makeup May: Day 5- Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks

Hello loves!

Today I wanted to share with my fellow lipstick lovas one of my favorite lipstick brands, Rimmel. More specifically the Kate Moss collection. I first became obsessed with this collection in the fall of last year. And once I started, I just couldn’t stop….

There are several things that I love about the Rimmel brand of lipsticks over other drugstore varieties; first they have an incredible consistency on the lips. They aren’t cakey, don’t flake off, and are relatively moisturizing. Secondly, their pigmentation….oh lord these colors are brilliant! Sometimes I find that with brands such as Revlon, the color of the lipstick is not what actually appears on the lips. However, I can honestly say that the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks are so true to color.

The above five shades are my absolute favorites. The collection consists of many different colors, however I just picked one from each color family that I thought I would wear most often!

#16 is my most recent, and is the most lovely pink/coral for summer. When applied it is bright but not too overpowering.

#14 is a great dark nude. It isn’t my favorite nude, and I don’t think it’s the exact right shade for my skin tone.

#01 is the perfect bright red. This is my favorite red to wear if I’m going for a bold lip look as it glossy and so pigmented!

#06 is a fun shade I grabbed for summer. It’s a hot pink that I love to pair with casual outfits to give a pop of color!

Finally, my absolutely favorite lipstick, ever. Kate Moss #107 is my staple fall lip color. This is the most gorgeous reddish/berry shade and compliments my skin tone very nicely. If you can, I would highly recommend picking this bad boy up!

I hope you found this post entertaining and informative! If you’re looking for an inexpensive but quality lip product, the Rimmel Kate Moss collection is my recommendation! Talk to you soon!

Fall/Winter Favorites

Hello lovely readers!

As it’s nearing the end of January/is the end of January, I find it only fitting to (finally) blog about some of my fall/winter beauty faves. This winter, I fell in love with lipstick. I guess I finally feel mature enough to wear it, and therefore bought out every drugstore within reach of all their gorgeous burgandys, reds, and wine colored hues.

Fall/Winter Lipsticks

My all-time favorite colors this season were (pictured above left to right) Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in color 124 Burgandy, Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in color 107, Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in color 420 Deepest Cherry, and Clinique Chubby Stick moisturizing lip color in 07 broadest berry.

All four of these colors are highly pigmented, and have a long-lasting wear. In particular, the Clinique Chubby Stick was the most moisturizing, and the Rimmel colors had the longest lasting color. Here are some color swatches:

The other beauty essentials that I have been loving this month are face washes. Since it’s crucial I wash my face each night (at risk of breakouts), I value a quality face wash that not only cleans my face of dirt, but doesnt leave my skin too dry as it’s winter in the desert where I live and the air has zero humidity. After a bit of trial and error, I found two winners:

Fall/Winter Face Cleansers

The first (on the left above) is the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser. This face wash acts as the perfect makeup remover since I’m too lazy to remove eye makeup with a cotton pad..whoops. It doesnt leave my skin dry, and is reasonably priced! My second, and now completely essential face wash is the Origins Checks and Balances Cleanser. My face has never felt as clean as when I use this. Not only does it clean my face of all residue, but it kind of smells like mint chocolate….so that’s a bonus….

The only downside to the Origins Checks and Balances is that is does leave my face very dry, so I always make sure to put on a moisurizer after washing. It is a little on the spendy side as well, but can last awhile (I only use about a dime-size amount each use).

So there you have it! Some of my fall/winter beauty favorites!

See you next time!
