Lust List: Spring Fragrance

This time of year is all about cleaning out your closet, rearranging your home and decluttering. I find this the perfect opportunity to do some refreshing in the scent category as well.

I’m usually drawn to similar scents year-round. However, during the spring I tend to gravitate towards more floral/musky tones. Things like lily, vanilla, musk, rose and amber. Mixed with a slight fruity undertone, and you have the perfect prequel to summertime. Continue reading

The Bedroom Look SS16

I love when underwear as outerwear is a trend. Literally half the effort to getting ready in the morning. Plus clothes that look like lingerie being acceptable in public?! Count me in.

The runway shows for Spring/Summer 2016 this year were covered in gorgeous silk satin slips and mussy bedroom hair. The likes of Celine gave us major envy for this gorgeous trend.

So, I had a little fun coming up with a highstreet/afforable option for us trend followers out there that just happens to be perfect for Valentines Day 😉

Spring Fashion 2015 Lookbook

Hi Friends!

I don’t know about you, but I adore reading fashion magazines, scouring the pages and devouring everything related to what’s in style for the upcoming season.

However, spring is not my favorite season. In fact, it’s my least favorite season of all. Fall is such an exciting time for fashion, winter has the expected layers and scarves, and summer is all about bring free and light. Yet spring is so….blah. What do you wear? Do you layer? Do you wear shorts or pants? Short sleeve or long?

It’s confusing.

So, I’ve made it my mission to make spring a little better for all of us by coming up with some interpretations of spring/summer 2015 runways trends. Because let’s be honest…no one is going to wear those thick socks with the chunky heels and our hair crimped….not naming names….

I did a bit of research. I read many magazines and searched many sites for what was going to be “in” this season. This research concluded that pale ballerina pinks were in- considering channelling your inner ballerina. Stella McCartney had some AH-MAZING pieces. *sigh*

I also noticed quite a bit of structured shoulders this season, which I paired with the softness of the pale pink silk camisole above. Not to toot my own horn or anything….but I made that top. Yeah, I went to college.

And of course, the overwhelming item of interpretation is floral. Floral tops, floral skirts, floral dresses, you name it, it was on the runway. I took a lot of inspiration from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Peter Som. The great thing about florals are that there are so many colors! Every shoe and every bag suddenly has a match…like when else am I going to wear these kick-booty bright orange pumps?!

What do you think?? I had such a fun time coming up with different outfits for this post and I hope you found some inspiration to get you through until summer!

Now, I’m going to go clean up my floor…and the massive pile of clothes…wait wheres my floor?!

Product Review: Orange Lips

Hellooooo lovelies!

My orange addiction continues with my hunt for a lovely (and subtle) orange/coral hued lip color. As I scoured the drugstore aisles, I came across quite a few orange-lip products in the Revlon section. Since I’ve never tried an orange lip color, I really wanted to find something that lightly tinted my lips and didn’t make me look like I ate too many Nacho Cheese Doritos….which for me, is possible.

Anywho….I ended up purchasing two products, the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in color 027 Juicy Papaya and the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in color 235 Mischievous.

Lip Butter:

I actually purchased the Lip Butter a few weeks before the Matte Balm, and have been wearing it almost daily. It has a slight orange sheen, not too overpowering and has a lovely texture. It is quite smooth and feels very moisturizing as well. It was about $6-ish (I’m sorry I really should start writing down how much I purchase things for). I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants to try out an orange, but isn’t feeling too daring.

Lip Balm:

For my second orange lip purchase I wanted to go a bit darker…something that said “yeah, my lips are orange, and I’m rocking it!” Or something like that…So I ended up buying the Matte Balm for about $7. When I arrived home I tried it on, and was impressed initially. The color is great, very true to the packaging, and was quite flattering on my skin tone. However, as I continued to wear it I noticed a bit of a draw back…it tasted odd and waxy. Overall, this product has a lovely color, not so lovely taste in my opinion.

Do you have an orange lip product you love? Any recommendations? I’m still on the hunt for the perfect orange for summer!
