New Blog! New Content!

Friends!

Brendykins has been upgraded. I started this blog after graduating university to document fun purchases, outfits and other random lifestyle goodies in my everyday life.

But, as all people do, I’ve grown up. And so has the content that I am interested in writing/photographing.

So with that, let me introduce you to….

The Suburban Edit

This blog is brendykins2.o, more fashion, more editorial, more me.

So, if you’d like to carry on with the brendykins family than come on over to the Suburban Edit and continue reading 🙂

Summer Wedding: What to Wear

Summer. The time of iced coffee, swimsuits, and weddings.

I am officially at the age where all of my friends are becoming adults and getting hitched. Which means its time to buy some new outfits.

I mean I’m not complaining, I love shopping and I love my friends and celebrating their love. But damn, this shit is stressful.

We are going to see a bunch of people who knew us in our prime- back when we were 115 lbs and in college. But that was awhile ago, and I don’t know about you, but my life has done a complete 360 since then.

And so begins the mad dash to find the perfect outfit to impress all my friends, fit the mood/theme/location of the wedding and fit in my post-grad budget.

Closet Staples: My Shoe Essentials

Spring is around the corner, and that means spring cleaning.

Now I font know about you, but I have WAY too many pairs of shoes.

Like, do I need 14 pairs of old navy flip flops? Probably not, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

So, as I was cleaning out my closet, I got to thinking what are my ‘must-have’ shoes? Which shoes are my ride-or-dies, my essentials, my go-tos.

March Wishlist

Every month, I have a little list of goodies I am lusting after. Some months I want to completely redo my wardrobe, other times I’m binging on makeup. But this March I’ve been all over the place.

Whether its browsing ASOS.com or scouring the new arrivals page of Sephora, I feel like I am always on the internet shopping. Does anyone else have this problem?!

Oh thank god, its not just me.

Birkin Bag: Is It Worth It?

We know Hermes. We know the signature orange color, the quality materials, and the very, very, very insane price tags.

And what is most commonly associated with Hermes? Well, their signature Birkin bag of course.

This bag is so insanely popular that even the wealthiest people have to be on a waiting list for at least two years to even possibly get one.

But why do we continue to buy them? What’s the allure around a bag so expensive that it could buy several nice cars?

Oh you didn’t know? Yeah. This bag is worth upwards of $10,000.

Sh*t. I know.

High-End Closet Staples

I have a shopping problem.

I also have a problem where I want things I can’t afford.

Champagne taste on a coors light budget much?

Occasionally, I enjoy perusing the designer section of online retailers thinking up my dream closet. But, I’m not all about buying things that I would wear once and never again. I prefer what you call “investment pieces.” Classic pieces you can wear over and over again that stand the test of time. And, if I had an unlimited budget, these are the goodies I would pick first.

February Wishlist: A Grey Obsession

I’m starting a new section of posts called “Brendykins Wishlist.”
This is where I’ll post monthly bits about what I am loving, wanting, lusting after and generally in love with.

Welcome to February!

The title says it all honestly. Lately I haven’t purchased anything that isn’t in this color family. I find it comforting, soft, luxurious, sexy, trendy.

Really, grey is the ultimate color.
